Trinni's Shave for ACC
Trinni's Shave for Adrenocortical Carcinoma (ACC). Even as a 10 year old girl, Trinni's life has been touched by too many family and friends being affected by cancer. Trinni also loves her pets, arts, gymnastics, Cubs, dance, her long hair, painting nails and making a difference! Now she wants to help raise awareness of ACC, or as she calls it “Mike’s cancer”. She's shaving her head to do her bit to help find a cure.
Lauren and Shirine met in the late 90s when they worked in medical research at the John Curtin School of Medical Research at Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. Fast forwarding through 25 years of friendship, Shirine and her husband Simon are parents of two amazing children Max (12) and Trinni (10). Lauren and her husband Mike are living and working in the United States, and despite the distance between Lauren and Shirine their friendship prevails.
In early September 2022, Mike was diagnosed with Stage IV Adrenocortical Carcinoma (ACC), a rare aggressive cancer that affects one in a million people, and passed away only seven weeks after his diagnosis.
